Software house and development company for Lahore
We build software for Lahore brands, retailers, restaurants and school chains from our office in Islamabad, written so that whoever holds it next can maintain it. Same timezone, invoices in rupees, and senior engineers from the first call to the handover.
Part of our work across Pakistan: software house in Pakistan
§ 01
The market
Building software for Lahore
Lahore is the capital of Punjab, Pakistan's second largest city, and one of the country's major IT hubs. Arfa Software Technology Park anchors the trade, the Punjab Information Technology Board is one of the most active provincial e-government bodies in the country, and LUMS, UET, FAST and the University of the Punjab turn out engineers every year. The result is a crowded market. Most business owners in the city know a software house or two, and plenty have paid for an app that nobody could maintain once the original developer moved on.
The businesses doing the buying have their own shape. Fashion and apparel brands sell direct to customers online and through their own stores, with a new collection or an Eid sale pulling a large share of a season's traffic into a few days. Textile and garment exporters answer to foreign buyers. Restaurants live on delivery, and many want an ordering channel of their own. Private school chains run fees and parent communication across several campuses. Around them sit the markets that still set the pace of retail: Liberty for fashion, Anarkali for almost everything, Hall Road for electronics.
We serve Lahore from our office in Islamabad. There is no Lahore branch and we will not pretend otherwise. The work runs remotely in the same timezone, invoiced in rupees, and when a decision genuinely needs a room it is a drive down the M-2 or a short flight. What we offer a city full of software houses is straightforward: a small senior team, the engineer who scopes your project running it, and a handover documented well enough that any competent developer in Lahore could pick it up after us.
§ 02
What is specific
What building for Lahore actually requires
Maintainable is the brief
A cheap build that only its author understands is the most expensive software a Lahore business can own, because every change after launch goes back to one person at whatever price they name. We write code with tests, plain documentation and a deployment anyone on your side can run. If you ever replace us, the handover should take days of reading rather than months of reverse engineering.
Commerce built around cash on delivery
For most Lahore brands selling online, cash on delivery is still how customers pay, and refused parcels are a cost line of their own. That makes confirmation part of checkout: a WhatsApp message or a call before dispatch, holds on risky orders, and courier bookings created from the order itself. Launch-day traffic is planned for too, so the site stays up on the day a new collection drops.
Tax rules that change at the provincial border
Sales tax on services in Punjab is collected by the Punjab Revenue Authority, while the other provinces and Islamabad have their own regimes, so a Lahore chain with branches elsewhere needs invoicing that knows which rules apply where. Large retailers may also have to connect their point of sale to the FBR. Your accountant decides what applies to you. Our job is software that handles each regime correctly and keeps selling when the connection drops.
§ 03
Working together
How working with us goes from Lahore
- 01
A call first, the M-2 when it matters
A free video consultation with the engineer who would run your project. If a workshop genuinely needs everyone at one table we arrange a visit to Lahore; otherwise nobody loses a day on the motorway for a meeting a call could handle.
- 02
Scope that includes life after launch
A written approach, the risks and a cost range in rupees, plus who will maintain the system afterwards and what that will take. Launch is the middle of a project, not its end.
- 03
Access from the first week
Your own repository, a staging site you can open at any time, and a working build at every step. You never have to take progress on trust.
- 04
A handover any developer can pick up
Documentation, tests and deployment steps written so that your in-house team, a freelancer or another Lahore software house could carry on without us.
§ 04
Services
What we build for Lahore clients
Project delivery, owned end to end. We take on the outcome rather than supplying engineering hours.
Working with Yarqat in Lahore
Do you have an office in Lahore?
No. Our only office is in E-11/2, Islamabad, and we serve Lahore from there. Day-to-day work runs on calls and shared tools in the same timezone, under a Pakistani contract with invoices in rupees. When a decision needs everyone in one room, such as a discovery workshop or a launch review, we can arrange a visit: Lahore is a motorway drive or a short flight away.
Lahore has plenty of software houses. Why work with a team in Islamabad?
Because of how we work more than where. We are small and senior, the engineer who scopes your project is the one who delivers it, and no account manager passes messages in between. The code, documentation and infrastructure are yours at the end. If a Lahore firm offers you all of that, the distance should not decide it for you either way.
Our last app was built cheaply and nobody can maintain it. Can you take it over?
Often, yes. We start by auditing the code, the hosting and the data, then give you a written assessment before any larger commitment. Some codebases can be stabilised with tests and cleanup. Others are cheaper to replace one part at a time while the old system keeps running. We will tell you plainly which yours is, including when the honest answer is a rebuild.
Can you connect our store to couriers and handle cash on delivery?
Yes. Orders can book shipments with couriers such as TCS, Leopards, PostEx or Trax straight from your store, with tracking sent to the customer, and stock can stay in step with Daraz if you sell there too. For cash on delivery we reconcile courier remittances against delivered, refused and returned parcels, so you can see exactly which money is still outstanding.
Can you build our site or app in Urdu as well as English?
Yes, and properly. Urdu is read in Nastaliq, which is harder to render on the web than the Naskh style many sites fall back to, and a Lahore reader notices the difference at once. We use a proper font such as Noto Nastaliq Urdu, generous line height and a right-to-left layout, and plan the content for both languages from the start instead of translating an English site later.
Have a project in Lahore?
Tell us what you are building or fixing. We work with Lahore clients from our Islamabad office, in the same timezone and the same currency, and the engineer who reads this is the one who would run the delivery.
- 01A senior engineer reads it. Not a form queue, and not an account manager.
- 02We reply either with questions or with a straight answer that we are not the right fit.
- 03If it looks like a fit, a technical call with the person who would actually run the delivery.
- 04Then scope, effort and risk in writing, before anyone signs anything.
